The song Ripple, from the Dead’s American Beauty album, is more than just a beautiful melody. It’s a metaphor for unseen influence – quiet moments that spark far-reaching impact.

That idea resonates deeply with me as a coach at Focal Point Business Coaching where we embrace the “pebble on a pond” philosophy: every coaching conversation is a small act that can create powerful, expanding ripples in our clients’ lives – influencing their teams, families, and communities for the better.

Interestingly, the Grateful Dead were marketing innovators in their own right. Long before “community-building” was a buzzword, they empowered fans – the tapers – to record and freely distribute live shows. Instead of controlling the message, they trusted the ripple effect of generosity and connection.

That’s a lesson in leadership and legacy.
